Main Performance Parameters

  1. Materials: The rongeur body is made of 40Cr13 or 32Cr13Mo according to GB/T1220; the spring plate is made of 20Cr13; the hinge pin is made of 12Cr18Ni9, 20Cr13, or 06Cr19Ni10; screws are made of 12Cr18Ni9 or 06Cr19Ni10.
  2. Appearance: The rongeur should be flat and symmetrical, with no sharp edges, burrs, or cracks.
  3. Jaw Alignment: When closed, the jaws must align precisely with no misalignment.
  4. Jaw Operation: The jaws should open and close smoothly, with the hinge operating freely and without wobbling or jamming.
  5. Cutting Edge: The edges should be sharp, without curling or chipping.
  6. Hardness: Bodies made of 40Cr13 or 32Cr13Mo must be heat-treated to a hardness of 48–55 HRC; the hardness difference between left and right jaw tips must not exceed 4 HRC.
  7. Corrosion Resistance: The rongeur should have good corrosion resistance, meeting at least Grade 5.4b according to YY/T0149.
  8. Surface Roughness: The surface roughness (Ra) should not exceed 0.8 μm; inside the jaw groove, roughness should not exceed 1.6 μm.
