Spoon Excavator (Flat Handle) – used to remove dental plaque from tooth surfaces or, during dental clinical procedures, to scoop, excavate, or scrape tissues or materials; suitable for removing soft tissue from tooth pits or affected tissue.
Main Technical Specifications
- Appearance: The surface shall be free of sharp edges, burrs, and cracks. The spoon-shaped head shall be symmetrical.
- Working End: The mouth of the spoon shall have a sharp edge without chipping.
- Connection Strength: For head-handle assembled spoon excavators, the connection between the head and the handle shall be firm and able to withstand a tensile force of 294 N without loosening.
- Material and Hardness: The spoon excavator shall be made of 32Cr13Mo, 40Cr13, or 12Cr18Ni9 steel as specified in GB/T 1220. Those made of 32Cr13Mo or 40Cr13 shall be heat-treated, with a hardness requirement of 510–620 HV.
- Corrosion Resistance: The spoon excavator shall have good corrosion resistance, meeting at least grade B requirements of the boiling water test specified in YY/T 0149, section 5.4b.

Surface Roughness: The Ra value of the surface shall not exceed 0.8 μm (excluding the spoon edge and knurled handle).
Product Structural Features
The product consists of a double-ended integral design and a head-handle assembled design. The handle is knurled to provide a secure grip, allowing easy rotation during use without slipping.
